Border Leicester
Border Leicesters are considered a long wool breed with coarse, curled, lustrous wool. It's a handspinner's dream; strong, yet soft and silky to the hand.
Registered Border Leicester ram and ewe lambs available in spring as well as proven ewes and rams.

Targhee
Targhees are considered a fine wool breed. They produce high quality apparel-type wool, very soft and perfect for garments worn against the skin. Handspinners know it for its bouncy, soft hand and excellent elasticity.
Registered (and unregistered) Targhee ram and ewe lambs available in spring. Photo of Joy and her twins, Mayqueen and Zeus, just 4 days old in the picture. Mayqueen and Zeus are now 2 and have great conformation and fleece. Mayqueen has a 19.9 micron-super for a Targhee! Zeus has a 21 micron fleece. I'm entering Mayqeen's at the fair this year.

Delaine Merino and Debouillet
Delaine Merino's and Debouillet's (a Delaine Merino/Rambouillet cross) produce what is considered to be the best wool in the world. They average a micron range of 18.5 to 23.5 microns. Our supreme champion Merino ram has a 20 micron fleece, Fauna, a Debouillet ewe has an 18.1 micron fleece, Faethe, another Debouillet ewe has a 19.6 fleece. Their wool is lovely to spin and also great for all kinds of needle and wet felting projects.

The Starshire flock
Starshire Ranch maintains a flock of about 10 ewes. Lambing begins in March. Our Border Leicester's have New Zealand bloodlines, great fleece and meat. Targhee's are known for raising a high percentage of twins and excel in pounds of lamb weaned per ewe. Our flock produces exquisite wool for hand spinning, knitting and all your projects. Our sheep are coated so vegetable matter is minimized. Pictures on the Starshire flock page. I'm in the process of taking some new photos!
